The Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) has disclosed the list of successful bidders for its tender under the Strategic Interventions for Green Hydrogen Transition (SIGHT) Scheme.
With a quoted capacity of 450,000 metric tonnes per annum (mtpa), the tender is divided into two categories: Technology Agnostic Pathways (Bucket I) and Biomass Based Pathways (Bucket II). Bucket I boasts 410,000 mtpa, while Bucket II has 40,000 mpta.
Reliance Green Hydrogen and Green Chemicals, ACME Cleantech, and Greenko ZeroC emerged as top winners in Bucket I, securing the maximum bidding capacity of 90,000 mtpa each. The average incentives for these winners stand at INR 18.90 per kg, INR 30 per kg, and INR 30 per kg, respectively.
Other notable winners in Bucket I include HHP Two (Hygenco), Welspun New Energy, Torrent Power, Calcutta Electric Supply Corporation (CESC), UPL Limited, and JSW Neo Energy.
In Bucket II, Bharat Petroleum Corporation of India (BPCL) stands as the sole successful bidder, obtaining a capacity of 2,000 mtpa with an average incentive price of INR 30 per kg.
While the bids are currently undergoing evaluation, an official announcement of the results is anticipated later this month. The tender, launched in December last year, received overwhelming response, reflecting the growing interest in establishing green hydrogen facilities in India.
