SECI Signs PSA’s Worth 930 MW with Several State Discoms

The Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) has announced the signing of several Power Sale Agreements (PSA) worth 930 MW with three Discoms from Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and Kerala.
The first PSA and the newest agreement has been signed between SECI and the Rajasthan Urja Vikas Nigam Limited (RUVNL) for the sale/ supply of 680 MW of solar power.
The second PSA, which was announced on September 7, 2019, was for the sale of 150 MW of solar power that will be generated by the infamous Rihand Dam floating solar power project, which was finally approved last month.
In July, The Uttar Pradesh cabinet chaired by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has cleared a floating solar PV power plant on Rihand Dam with an investment of Rs 750 crore. It will be the first floating solar power plant in the state and the biggest in the country by capacity.
The state cabinet cleared the project that will fetch investment of Rs 750 crore, UP government spokesman Shrikant Sharma told reporters here. He said the water surface floating solar PV power project will generate 150 MW power and will be completed in the next 21 months.
The third agreement was signed with the Kerala State Electricity Board (KSEB) on September 6, 2019. SECI under the PSA will sell/ supply 100 MW wind energy to the Discom.
