SECI Signs INR 3,000 Crore MoU with BSPGCL for 1,000 MWh BESS and Other RE Projects in Bihar
Solar Energy Corporation of India Ltd. (SECI) has signed an MoU with Bihar State Power Generation Company Ltd. (BSPGCL) to develop large-scale renewable energy projects worth around INR 3,000 crore in Bihar, including 1,000 MWh battery storage, pumped storage, floating solar and solar with BESS.

Solar Energy Corporation of India Ltd. (SECI), a Navratna CPSU under the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Bihar State Power Generation Company Ltd. (BSPGCL) for large-scale renewable energy development in Bihar with a proposed investment of approximately INR 3,000 crore.
The collaboration focuses on establishing 1,000 MWh battery energy storage systems (BESS), pumped storage projects (PSP), floating solar and solar with BESS, along with other emerging renewable energy technologies in the State.
The MoU was formally exchanged between Sivakumar V Vepakomma, Director (Power Systems), SECI and Abdesh Kumar Singh, Director (Technical), BSPGCL. The MoU was signed by Avnish Parashar, Dy General Manager (Business Development), SECI and Dilip Kumar, Chief Engineer, BSPGCL.
“The partnership aligns with the Bihar Renewable Energy Policy 2025, aiming to strengthen the State’s renewable energy ecosystem and add substantial storage and generation capacity to its power mix,” stated SECI.
