The Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) has announced that it has released a NIT for deployment of Renewable Energy Projects along with a connected Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) in the Union Territory of Lakshadweep.
The concise range of work for the winning bidders will include the design, engineering, procurement, supply, construction, erection, testing, commissioning of the 50 MW (AC) Solar PV Power Plant. The solar power developers (SPDs) will also be accountable for the successful operation and maintenance (O&M) of the project for a period of 10 years from the official date of commissioning.
Recently, SECI issued a tender for selection of solar power developers for setting up of a 3 GW ISTS connected solar PV power plant linked with setting up of 1.5 GW (per annum) solar manufacturing plant under global competitive bidding.
Due to meager reaction from the industry, the tender capacity was later reduced to 3 GW. However, the government announced its plan to annul the earlier tender and float the manufacturing-linked solar tender for a second time, after scrapping the results from the first issue.
The NIT will be available for viewing on the TCIL website from February 5, 2019.
