SECI, NDMC Sign MoU for Solarising 244 Municipal Buildings Across Delhi

Solar Energy Corporation of India has signed an MoU with the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) to solarise around 244 municipal buildings across Delhi.

Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) has announced the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) for the solarisation of approximately 244 NDMC buildings spread across Delhi.

The MoU was signed by Manas Ranjan Mishra, Dy General Manager and HoD (Solar) and Er. Deepak Sachdeva, Chief Engineer (Electrical) on behalf of SECI and NDMC respectively, and was exchanged in the presence of Keshav Chandra, IAS, Chairman, NDMC.

“This initiative contributes directly to India’s energy transition by accelerating the adoption of renewable energy in public infrastructure. It enhances energy self-reliance, reduces emissions in the national capital, and demonstrates leadership in sustainable urban governance,” SECI stated.
 
Last month, SECI signed a Statement of Intent with the Global Energy Alliance for People and Planet (GEAPP) to collaborate on grid strengthening, clean energy integration, and strategic initiatives supporting India’s energy transition.
 
It also signed an MoU with Indraprastha Power Generation Company (IPGCL) and Pragati Power Corporation (PPCL) to explore and develop solar, energy storage, and emerging clean energy projects.
 
In November 2025, SECI and the Ministry of External Affairs inked an MoU to equip all MEA buildings across India with grid-connected rooftop solar systems under the PM Surya Ghar Yojana.
 
In October 2025, the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) and SECI signed an MoU to develop 300 MW of solar-based renewable energy projects across DRDO campuses nationwide, aiming to establish self-reliant, Net-Zero campuses across all strategic DRDO locations by 2027.
 
In August 2025, SECI signed an MoU with the Renewable Energy Agency Puducherry to solarise all government buildings in the Union Territory.
