The Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) and the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to install grid-connected rooftop solar power systems across all MEA buildings in India under the PM Surya Ghar Yojana.

The MoU was formally signed and exchanged by Anand Prakash, Director (Establishment), MEA, and Manas Ranjan Mishra, Deputy General Manager (Solar), SECI, representing their respective organisations.

“This collaboration marks a significant step toward expanding clean energy adoption within government infrastructure and advancing India’s national solar mission,” stated SECI in a social media post.

Last month, Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) and SECI signed an MoU to develop 300 MW of solar-based renewable energy projects across DRDO campuses nationwide, aiming to establish self-reliant, Net-Zero campuses across all strategic DRDO locations by 2027.

In August 2025, SECI signed an MoU with the Renewable Energy Agency Puducherry to solarise all government buildings in the Union Territory.
