Solar Energy Corporation of India’s (SECI) 9th Green Ammonia auction has discovered a new all-time low tariff of INR of INR 49.75/kg for a supply of 1,00,000 TPA of Green Ammonia at IFFCO Paradeep. Acme Cleantech Solutions has emerged as the successful bidder.
Last week, ACME won SECI’s 8th Green Green Ammonia auction under the SIGHT Scheme (Mode-2A), securing supply for Indian Farmers Fertiliser Cooperative Ltd. (IFFCO) at Kandla in Gujarat, with a capacity of 1,00,000 TPA at a price of INR 54.73/kg.
The company also won SECI’s 7th Green Ammonia auction to supply 50,000 TPA of green ammonia to Coromandel International Ltd. (CIL), Vishakhapatnam at a price of INR 51.89/kg.
Last month, it won SECI’s first-ever green ammonia auction to supply 75,000 TPA to Paradeep Phosphates Ltd., Odisha at a price of INR 55.75/kg.
With this win, ACME Cleantech Solutions’ total secured capacity from SECI increased to 3,25,000 TPA.
SECI has planned a series of 13 auctions over the coming month, under a tender aggregating a cumulative procurement capacity of 7.24 lakh MT/year.
So far, SECI has awarded a cumulative capacity of 6,60,000 MT/year through the nine auctions conducted so far. ACME Cleantech Solutions, NTPC Renewable Energy, Onix Renewable, Oriana Power, Jakson Green and a consortium of SCC Infrastructure with InSolare Energy have won the previous auctions at a tariff in the range of 50.75/kg to INR 55.75/kg.
“From the first auction at Paradeep to today’s milestone, every step has deepened confidence, sharpened competition, and delivered globally competitive prices. India’s model, built on assured offtake, transparent e-reverse auctions, and strong payment security, is no longer just a framework; it’s a proven engine driving confidence and value across the sector,” stated SECI.
It further added, “With MNRE’s vision and leadership, the Department of Fertilizers’ backing and support, and SECI’s transparent facilitation, India’s Green Ammonia journey is taking firm shape. IFFCO’s strong support as an off-taker has been integral to this initiative, ensuring market confidence and demonstrating the readiness of the fertilizer sector to embrace green ammonia.”
Green Ammonia has moved from a concept to a commercially viable reality in record time, stated SECI, further asserting that India is consolidating its position as a front-runner in building a Green Hydrogen and derivatives economy.
