SCZONE Chairman Participates in World Hydrogen Summit and Exhibition in Netherlands
Walid Gamal El-Din, Chairman of the General Authority of the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZone) participated in the World Hydrogen Summit 2024 held in Rotterdam, the Netherlands.

Walid Gamal El-Din, Chairman of the General Authority of the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZone) participated in the World Hydrogen Summit 2024 held in Rotterdam, the Netherlands.
In its current session, the summit discusses ways to support the energy transition and maximize the role that governments play, along with the private sector and financing institutions, in achieving the goals of the global transition towards green energy.
Within the framework of the summit's activities, Gamal El-Din participated in the high-level round table of the International Hydrogen Trade Forum (IHTF), with the participation of Rob Jetten, Minister for Climate and Energy Policy and Deputy Prime Minister of the Netherlands.
In his speech, the head of the Suez Canal Economic Zone reviewed the green hydrogen strategy within the region and its efforts to facilitate the investment climate for establishing green hydrogen production projects and its derivatives and practicing ship bunkering activity with it.
On the sidelines of the summit, Gamal El-Din also held a meeting with Felipe Arbelaez Senior Vice President of the BP Hydrogen Group, during which the two sides discussed ways of cooperation in green hydrogen projects within the zone.
Gamal el-Din also signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Rotterdam Foundation. The memorandum aims for institutional cooperation in the areas of transition to the green economy and raising the efficiency of seaports through the exchange of technical expertise and the implementation of a number of joint training programs.
