Schneider Electric has launched its Installed Base Tracking campaign in India, aimed at helping businesses create digital identities for critical electrical assets and move towards predictive lifecycle management, condition based maintenance and improved operational uptime.

The initiative comes as India’s industrial, commercial and data centre infrastructure expands, increasing the need for reliable power systems and reduced equipment downtime. Schneider Electric said that many critical electrical assets continue to operate without a comprehensive digital footprint, limiting visibility into equipment condition, service history and lifecycle status.

Under the campaign, businesses are encouraged to establish distinct digital identities for their electrical assets. Schneider Electric said that this can provide a clearer view of equipment details, service records and lifecycle status, allowing organisations to make more informed decisions on maintenance, modernisation, replacement and end of life planning.

“Installed Base Tracking is the first step towards creating greater visibility across the asset lifecycle,” said Damini Chaudhari, Vice President, Services, Schneider Electric.

According to Chaudhari, greater visibility into installed assets and their service history can help businesses make informed decisions on maintenance, modernisation and future investments, while moving asset management from a reactive approach towards a more predictive model.

The company said  that installed base information can also support the digitisation of electrical assets and enable its service capabilities to provide more tailored recommendations based on individual equipment and operational requirements.

As asset information becomes increasingly digitised and connected with service capabilities, businesses can gain deeper insights into equipment performance and identify potential issues at an earlier stage, Schneider Electric said. This could help organisations take timely decisions aimed at maintaining operational continuity and extending asset life.

Schneider Electric is inviting businesses to register their installed electrical assets as part of the campaign. The company said that establishing a digital identity for each asset can improve support, simplify maintenance planning and increase visibility while reducing the risk of unplanned downtime.

The campaign forms part of Schneider Electric’s broader focus on combining installed base intelligence, digital tools and service expertise to help customers manage existing electrical infrastructure through a more data driven and predictive approach. Schneider Electric’s digital services already provide maintenance recommendations and its mySchneider platform allows customers to register products, track installed assets and access equipment related information.
