SCC Infrastructure has won Solar Energy Corporation of India’s (SECI) 12th Green Ammonia auctions under the SIGHT Scheme (Mode-2A), for a supply of 15,000 TPA of Green Ammonia to Mangalore Chemicals and Fertilizers in Mangalore, Karnataka, at a tariff of INR 57.65/kg.
This is SCC Infrastructure’s 2nd win under SECI’s green ammonia auctions. Earlier this months, a consortium of SCC Infrastructure with InSolare Energy won SECI’s auction to supply 70,000 TPA green ammonia to Madhya Bharat Agro Products’ fertiliser plant in Dhule, Maharashtra at INR 53.05/kg. With this win, the company total secured capacity increased to 85,000 TPA.
So far, SECI has awarded a cumulative capacity of 7,20,000 MT/year through the 12 auctions conducted so far. It has planned a total of 13 auctions with a cumulative capacity of 7.24 lakh MT/year.
ACME Cleantech Solutions, NTPC Renewable Energy, Onix Renewable, Oriana Power, Jakson Green and a consortium of SCC Infrastructure with InSolare Energy have won the previous auctions at a tariff in the range of 49.75/kg to INR 64.74/kg.
Among these, ACME Cleantech Solutions has bagged the highest capacity of 3,70,000 TPA through six wins. The lowest discovered price of INR 49.75/kg to supply 1,00,00 TPA green ammonia to IFFCO Paradeep in Odisha was also offered by ACME.
“India’s Green Ammonia footprint is steadily widening. Each auction adds not just capacity, but also depth—demonstrating that the offtake model continues to provide confidence, even as tariff levels reflect the realities of diverse geographies, scales, and participation dynamics,” stated SECI.
It further added, “With MNRE’s vision and leadership, the Department of Fertilizers’ backing and support, and SECI’s transparent facilitation, India’s Green Ammonia journey is taking firm shape. IFFCO’s strong support as an off-taker has been integral to this initiative, ensuring market confidence and demonstrating the readiness of the fertilizer sector to embrace green ammonia.”
Green Ammonia has moved from a concept to a commercially viable reality in record time, stated SECI, further adding, “Each successful auction is more than a price point - it’s a commitment: that India will lead the world in building a low-carbon, affordable, and scalable Green Hydrogen and derivatives ecosystem.”
