A consortium of SCC Infrastructure with InSolare Energy has emerged as the winning bidder in Solar Energy Corporation of India’s (SECI) fourth green ammonia auction. It will supply 70,000 TPA of Green Ammonia to Madhya Bharat Agro Products’ fertiliser plant at Dhule, Maharashtra at a price of INR 53.05/kg.

This is the fourth in a planned series of 13 auctions over the coming month, under a tender aggregating a cumulative procurement capacity of 7.24 lakh MT/year.

With this win, InSolare Energy becomes the only company in India to receive Production Linked Incentive (PLI) allocations under the SIGHT Scheme across three strategic segments: indigenous electrolyser manufacturing, green hydrogen production and green ammonia production, the company claimed in a statement, further adding that this “green energy hat trick” strengthen InSolare's position in the complete green energy value chain, from technology innovation to full-scale deployment.

Dr. Hemanshu Bhatt, Director - CTO, InSolare Energy said, “This win reinforces our commitment to making India self-reliant in green energy infrastructure. By leveraging our in-house electrolyser technology, local manufacturing capabilities, and expertise in large-scale project execution, we are not only accelerating the adoption of green fuels but also enabling industrial sectors to transition towards net-zero growth.”

Last week, Oriana Power emerged as the successful bidder in SECI’s third green ammonia auction. Oriana Power will supply 60,000 TPA of green ammonia to Madhya Bharat Agro Products’ plant in Sagar, Madhya Pradesh at a price of INR 52.25/kg.

In the 2nd auction, NTPC Renewable Energy (NTPC REL), a wholly-owned subsidiary of NTPC Green Energy, emerged as the lowest bidder, securing 70,000 MTPA capacity at a record low of INR 51.80/kg for supply to Krishana Phoschem in Madhya Pradesh.

Last week, ACME Cleantech Solutions won SECI’s first-ever Green Ammonia auction under the SIGHT Scheme (Mode-2A) at a bid price of INR 55.75/kg to supply 75,000 MTPA to Paradeep Phosphates Ltd., Odisha.

“This fourth auction, further validating the competitiveness and commercial viability of Green Ammonia in India. The result reflects a clear trend of rapid cost compression across successive auctions, reinforcing India’s position as a frontrunner in the global green hydrogen and derivatives market,” SECI said in a statement.

It further added that with the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) steering policy formulation and instituting robust frameworks for payment security and the Department of Fertilizer (DoF) ensuring assured offtake, India’s green energy ambitions are not just gaining momentum it is setting the pace globally as a leader in the Green Hydrogen eco-system.

“Each successful auction sends a strong signal to investors, developers, and off-takers that India’s green energy transition is economically sound and globally competitive. This achievement not only strengthens the case for clean energy adoption but also accelerates the nation’s journey towards energy independence and a low-carbon future,” SECI said.
