Saudi Arabia’s ACWA Power has inked three power purchase agreements worth USD 2.5 billion with the National Electric Grid of Uzbekistan to construct solar photovoltaic power plants in Uzbekistan.

Saudi Arabia’s ACWA Power has inked three power purchase agreements worth USD 2.5 billion with the National Electric Grid of Uzbekistan to construct solar photovoltaic power plants in Uzbekistan.
As per the statement, the project at the end is anticipated to cancel out approximately 1.6 million tons of carbon emissions each year and power supply to around 1.1 million homes.
ACWA Power further observed that the power purchase agreement envelopes three solar PV plants at the region, one developing 400 megawatts of wind power and the rest of the two developing 500 megawatts.
The agreement also encloses three Battery Energy Storage Systems with an overall integrated potential of 1,500 megawatts.
The company’s filing accumulated that the business deal take over the development, construction and operation of the project, and the contract has a time duration of 25 years after the duration of the project.
ACWA works as a developer, investor and operator of power generation and desalined water plants or advanced development all across 12 countries.
