Salasar Techno Engineering, an Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) company in India’s power transmission and infrastructure sector, is executing two turnkey projects worth a combined INR 124.81 crore for Jharkhand Urja Sancharan Nigam (JUSNL), the state’s power transmission utility. Salasar's continued partnership with JUSNL reflects growing trust in its substation and transmission execution capability within Jharkhand. It covers a grid substation in Dhanbad district and a transmission line in Bokaro district, each scheduled for completion within 18 months.

The INR 63.44 crore substation project covers design, engineering, supply of materials and equipment, erection, testing and commissioning of a 132/33 kV, 2x80 MVA grid substation at Sindri (Hurl) in Dhanbad district. The turnkey scope also includes a control room building, approach road and allied civil works. Sindri is among eastern India’s oldest industrial townships, best known for the fertiliser complex that was revived, and dedicated to the nation in 2024. The new substation is strengthening the regional grid serving Dhanbad’s industrial and residential load centres.

In parallel, Salasar is executing a INR 61.37 crore turnkey project for a 132 kV double-circuit transmission line running 20 kilometres from Dugda to ITI More, Chas and comprising 68 monopoles. Both ends of the line sit in Bokaro district, with Chas adjoining Bokaro Steel City. The line is strengthening the high-voltage backbone in one of Jharkhand’s key energy corridors. It supports the state’s efforts to improve power evacuation capacity and reliability in a region that serves both industrial and growing urban demand.

Together, the two projects underscore Salasar’s growing execution footprint in Jharkhand. Read as a pair, they span the Dhanbad–Bokaro belt, one of the densest concentrations of coal, steel and fertiliser capacity in the country.  The substation’s 2x80 MVA transformation capacity and the transmission line’s compact monopole design are jointly enabling improved power evacuation and grid reliability across both districts. Both assets feed into JUSNL’s wider programme to strengthen transmission capacity across Jharkhand. This supports future load growth driven by urbanisation and industrial activity in the state.

Commenting on projects Shashank Agarwal, Managing Director, Salasar Techno Engineering, said, “These two projects go beyond adding capacity to Jharkhand’s grid. By pairing a 132/33 kV substation at Sindri in Dhanbad with a 132 kV line into Chas in Bokaro, we are strengthening power evacuation and reliability across a belt that has powered India’s industrial economy for decades. Our integrated EPC execution model and unwavering focus on quality, safety and timely delivery position us well to deliver these mission-critical assets for JUSNL.”
