Gujarat-based Sahaj Solar has announced that the company’s Board of Directors has approved a proposal to set up a new Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) manufacturing facility with a production and storage capacity of 1.8 GWh at Dakor, Gujarat, with an investment of approximately INR 25 crore.
The facility is expected to be set up within 12 months, with the investment to be financed through debt and internal accruals. The estimated investment excludes the cost of the factory premises, which have already been constructed, the company stated in a regulatory filing.
The proposed facility will manufacture BESS for domestic and international markets. The company stated that the investment is aimed at vertically integrating its existing solar systems business.
