SAEL Industries plans to invest INR 22,000 crore in Andhra Pradesh across key sectors such as green energy, biomass, data centres, and port development, according to a statement from the state government. The investment is expected to create over 70,000 employment opportunities.

The agreement is likely to be formalised during the CII Partnership Summit scheduled to be held in Visakhapatnam on November 14–15, the TDP said in a statement.

As per the proposal, SAEL’s investment will span multiple verticals — including utility-scale solar and battery storage projects, biomass-based power generation, a hyperscale-ready data centre, and port-linked infrastructure to boost industrial growth and logistics efficiency.

The company intends to set up seven solar and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects with a combined capacity of 1,750 MW across Kadapa and Kurnool districts, supporting round-the-clock renewable power for industries and data centres. The company secured these projects through NHPC and SECI’s auctions.

Additionally, SAEL plans a 200 MW biomass initiative (comprising 25 MW units) to generate rural employment and strengthen agricultural residue value chains. An INR 3,000 crore data centre project will leverage Andhra Pradesh’s expanding digital backbone, while an INR 4,000 crore port development will enhance maritime trade and export competitiveness.

SAEL has already invested INR 3,200 crore in the state, commissioning 600 MW of renewable capacity within nine months, the release noted.
