SAEL Industries, an integrated renewable energy company, through its subsidiary Sunfree Energy RJP1, has commissioned its first solar power project in Rajasthan with a capacity of 200 MW (AC) and 298 MW (DC).
The solar power project is located in the Jalore district and spans over 1,000 acres. SAEL signed the 25-year Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) for the project with Rajasthan Urja Vikas and IT Services (RUVITL) on February 20, 2024 at an electricity tariff of INR 2.61/kWh.
Commenting on the milestone, Laxit Awla, Director, SAEL Industries, said, “Rajasthan has always been significant to India’s renewable journey, and our solar project at Jalore strengthens that legacy. We are proud to complete the project ahead of the contracted timeline. We thank the Government of Rajasthan and other agencies who supported us in getting timely approvals and resolving on-ground execution challenges seamlessly.”
He further added, “The project holds importance for us because it is the largest solar power project developed by SAEL that is connected to a State Transmission Utility. Over 80 percent of the solar modules installed at the solar plant are sourced from SAEL’s solar module manufacturing facility in Kishangarh, Rajasthan. Our focus is on creating solutions and empowering energy independence and sustainability in the energy space.”
Commissioned on August 17, 2025, ahead of its Scheduled Commercial Operation Date (SCOD), the project aims at enabling early transmission and additional supply of power within the state.
The solar project in Jalore utilises advanced TOPCon Solar PV modules featuring 146 cells and 156 cells with peak outputs of up to 635 WP and efficiency of up to 22.95 percent. Its strategic location provides seamless transmission connectivity and grid integration, while minimising transmission losses.
