Roofsol Energy has announced its partnership with automotive component manufacturer Motherson Group to develop and deploy 12.8 MWp of rooftop and behind-the-meter solar power projects across multiple manufacturing locations, utilising a combination of OPEX (RESCO) and CAPEX models.

Under this engagement, Roofsol Energy will design, engineer, install, and operate multiple rooftop solar plants aggregating approximately 12.8 MWp across Motherson’s manufacturing facilities in Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Uttar Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Haryana, and Puducherry, the company stated.

“Once fully commissioned, these projects are expected to generate over 14 million units of green electricity annually, helping offset approximately 5,500–5,700 tonnes of CO₂ emissions each year. This initiative marks a significant step in Motherson’s journey toward reducing its carbon footprint and strengthening renewable energy adoption across its Indian operations,” stated the company.

In May 2025, the company raised INR 210 crore from Aseem Infrastructure Finance to develop 92.66 MWp of IPP and group captive solar assets across India. The company also announced the successful commissioning of 14 solar EPC projects with a combined capacity of about 29 MWp across 12 Indian states and 5 industrial sectors.
