Roofsol Energy Signs 6.1 MWp Rooftop Solar PPAs with Softgel Healthcare, Noble Tech Industries

Roofsol Energy has signed a 2.3 MWp rooftop solar PPA with Softgel Healthcare and a 3.8 MWp agreement with Noble Tech Industries to develop rooftop solar projects under the OPEX model.

Solar EPC company Roofsol Energy has announced that the company has recently signed 2 rooftop solar power purchase agreements (PPAs) with a cumulative capacity of 6.1 MWp under the OPEX model.

The company has signed a 2.3 MWp PPA with pharmaceutical manufacturer Softgel Healthcare. Once commissioned, the project for Softgel Healthcare is expected to offset approximately 2,760 metric tonnes of CO₂ emissions annually, equivalent to planting over 1,15,000 trees every year, stated Roofsol.

Roofsol has also signed a 3.8 MWp PPA with steel products manufacturer Noble Tech Industries to develop the rooftop solar project at Melpakkam, Tamil Nadu, under the OPEX model. “By eliminating the need for any upfront capital investment, the OPEX model enables industries to seamlessly transition to clean, reliable, and cost-effective solar energy,” stated the company.

Last month, Roofsol announced the commissioning of a 3.5 MWp rooftop solar project for Apache Footwear India at its manufacturing facility in Andhra Pradesh under the OPEX model. It also implemented a 2.5 MWp rooftop solar power plant for Sudha Somany Ceramics at its manufacturing facility in Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh, under the OPEX model.

Last month, Roofsol Energy also secured INR 260 crore in funding from Aseem Infrastructure Finance to develop solar IPP projects, including installations for JK Tyre and Industries and an additional 100 MWp of C&I solar capacity across India.
