In a statement, ReNew, a homegrown player in the green energy sector, underscored its commitment to aligning these programs with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Over the past decade, ReNew has achieved this significant milestone by impacting one million lives across 10 states, encompassing 114 project sites and over 500 villages. These transformative programs have left a positive mark in states including Rajasthan, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Maharashtra, Karnataka, and Haryana.
The company's CSR initiatives have been tailored to support the UN SDGs related to inclusive and equitable quality education (SDG 4), gender equality (SDG 5), the provision of affordable, reliable, sustainable, and modern energy for communities (SDG 7), and taking urgent action to combat climate change and its associated impacts (SDG 13).
ReNew's initiatives span three broad categories of development, namely human, social, and natural capital, with a focus on climate education, school electrification, empowering women in the energy sector, and preserving water resources.
