Australian beverage giant Lion has assured to power all of its operations with renewable energy in coming 5 years. The declaration is the latest in the unveiling of Lion’s eco-friendly strategy after saying in November it would become Australia’s first large-scale carbon-neutral brewer in coming year.
The efforts Lion was taking to reduce its carbon footprint were defined by Lion CEO Stuart Irvine. “Lion is now proudly pulling every carbon abatement lever available,” he further stated. Lion has ideas of sourcing all of its electricity from renewable sources. Lion is also planning to offset its remaining organization footprint so that it will become carbon-neutral.
Lion has been successful in sending a positive pro-environment message to everyone from consumers to Lion’s suppliers and from staff to the wider public.
Lion was now planning to ramp up its strategy to combat climate change, as per Irvine. The company would take its commitment to climate action to the next level. It will start with some smaller steps in coming year, he further added.
