REnergy Dynamics has secured two waste-to-compressed biogas (CBG) projects from Refex Renewables, marking a fresh push in India’s waste-to-energy ecosystem.

As per the statement, the projects will be set up in Tamil Nadu, with a 12.5 tonnes-per-day (TPD) CBG plant in Coimbatore and a 10 TPD facility in Salem. Together, the plants will process around 550 tonnes of municipal solid waste daily, converting the organic fraction of urban waste into clean compressed biogas using a two-stage mesophilic anaerobic digestion system with CSTR technology. This setup is designed to improve gas yields, stabilise operations, and ensure long-term plant reliability.

Under the contract, REnergy Dynamics will handle Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) along with one year of Operations and Maintenance (O&M), covering full project execution and early operational support after commissioning.

Kushagra Nandan, Chairman and Managing Director of REnergy Dynamics, said in the statement that securing the two projects from Refex Renewables marks a significant milestone for the company.

Once operational, the two facilities are expected to significantly cut environmental emissions by capturing methane that would otherwise escape from landfills. The projects together are projected to offset nearly 2.9 lakh tonnes of CO₂ emissions annually, about 1.45 lakh tonnes per plant, while also reducing dependence on landfills and strengthening urban waste management systems.

Kalpesh Kumar, Managing Director of Refex Renewables, said that the partnership with REnergy Dynamics reflects a shared commitment to developing efficient and scalable waste-to-energy solutions with long-term impact.
