Reliance Plans to Commence Solar Module Manufacturing Amenity by March 2024

Reliance is equipped to initiate its 5GW module manufacturing capability in Jamnagar, Gujarat, by the end of the financial year 2024 (April 2023 to March 2024), with a further plan to expand it to 20 GW by the year 2026.

Reliance Industries (Reliance) planning to develop one of the world's largest amalgamated RE manufacturing facilities in India, and is planning to commission the introductory phase of its solar module manufacturing by the end of the current fiscal year.

Reliance is equipped to initiate its 5GW module manufacturing capability in Jamnagar, Gujarat, by the end of the financial year 2024 (April 2023 to March 2024), with a further plan to expand it to 20 GW by the year 2026.

As per Reliance's annual report for 2022-2023, the company continuously makes synergistic investments in green energy, comprising a majority stake in SenseHawk, an early-stage developer of software-based management tools for the solar energy generation industry.

Reliance targets to establish and facilitate 100 GW of solar energy capacity by 2030 under its green energy plan, which includes PV panels, energy storage, electrolyzers for green hydrogen, and fuel cells.

Reliance is modeling decarbonisation solutions to construct a sustainable future for the Company and the nation by embracing new and pathways to combat climate change.

The company perceives investments in renewables and alternative energy as a proactive step to ensure a sustainable tomorrow for future generations.

Reliance announced to construction of Giga Factories to generate and offer a fully integrated, end-to-end renewable energy ecosystem. The company is to transform its business to a Net Carbon Zero operation.

Additionally, Reliance is in advanced talks with other leading electrolyser technology players globally to establish a Giga-scale electrolyser manufacturing facility in Jamnagar.

Reliance acquired a 100 percent stake in REC Solar, a global leader with more than 25 years of experience in the industry.

The company aims to grow the HJT module efficiency to 26 percent by 2026 from the current 23 percent and further upgrade it to 28 percent through innovations like perovskite-tandem cell technology.
