Reliance Industries Ltd. has operationalised the first phase of its clean energy giga complex at Jamnagar, Gujarat, marking a major milestone in the company’s integrated renewable energy manufacturing strategy.
The company has commissioned core manufacturing assets and delivered its first 200 MWp of heterojunction (HJT) solar modules from the Dhirubhai Ambani Green Energy Giga Complex, according to its FY26 annual report.
Reliance has also initiated advanced commissioning activities for its battery energy storage system (BESS) giga-factory. The facility is designed with an initial annual production capacity of 40 GWh based on lithium iron phosphate (LFP) chemistry. Civil construction for the plant has been completed, while equipment installation and production line integration are currently underway. The company expects production ramp-up during the second half of 2026.
The Jamnagar complex forms part of Reliance’s broader clean energy roadmap, covering integrated solar photovoltaic manufacturing, energy storage systems and green energy infrastructure development.
Reliance Chairman Mukesh Ambani said the giga complex reflects the company’s commitment to supporting India’s transition toward clean, secure and affordable energy at scale through domestic manufacturing and technology integration.
The company’s FY26 annual report also showed its contribution to the national exchequer increased to INR 2,16,472 crore during the fiscal year, compared with INR 2,10,269 crore in FY25, registering a growth of 2.95 percent. Reliance said the government received 46.7 percent of its total value added of INR 4,63,448 crore during the year.
Reliance further increased its research and development expenditure by 11.9 percent year-on-year to INR 4,682 crore in FY26. The company said its R&D ecosystem now includes more than 1,000 scientists, engineers and specialists working across energy, materials, digital technologies and advanced manufacturing.
Meanwhile, Jio Platforms, the group’s digital services arm, filed around 3,476 patents during FY26, reflecting continued investment in technology development and intellectual property creation.
