Reliance Power’s wholly owned subsidiary, Reliance NU Energies Pvt. Ltd., has received the Letter of Award (LOA) for 750 MW / 3,000 MWh under SJVN Ltd.’s landmark 1,500 MW / 6,000 MWh Firm and Dispatchable Renewable Energy (FDRE) tender.

This allocation represents 50 percent of the total capacity, making it the single largest award in the tender. The project, integrating around 900 MWp of solar capacity with 3,000 MWh of battery storage, was won at a competitive tariff of INR 6.74 per kWh.

"The landmark FDRE tender marks a major step towards enabling round-the-clock renewable power supply through hybrid and storage-based energy solutions. The online auction witnessed strong industry participation, being oversubscribed 3.3 times, with 14 bidders qualifying for the reverse online auction process," the firm said in its statement.

With this win, Reliance Group now holds over 4 GWp of solar and 6.5 GWh of BESS capacity across four projects with Navratna PSUs in just ten months, strengthening its position in India’s rapidly growing renewable and storage sector.

The FDRE initiative, the first of its kind in India, is designed to supply round-the-clock renewable peaking power to DISCOMs nationwide, supporting the government’s drive toward a cleaner, more reliable power mix.
