Reliance NU Energies, a wholly owned subsidiary of Reliance Power, has been awarded a Letter of Award (LoA) by SJVN Ltd. for a significant 350 MW inter-state transmission system (ISTS)-connected solar project integrated with a 175 MW/700 MWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS).

This development marks a major milestone for Reliance Power in its strategic shift toward cleaner energy. The awarded project, secured at a competitive tariff of INR 3.33/kWh for 25 years, was part of SJVN’s 1,200 MW Solar and 600 MW/2,400 MWh BESS tender, which drew strong interest from the renewable energy sector, with 19 developers participating and 18 qualifying for the final round.

Once operational, the project will contribute 600 MW of solar DC capacity and 700 MWh of BESS capacity to Reliance Power’s growing green energy portfolio. With this win, the company’s total clean energy pipeline now stands at 2.4 GW of solar and more than 2.5 GWh of BESS capacity, establishing it as India’s largest integrated Solar and BESS player.
