RECPDCL Hands Over Bellary-Davanagere ISTS transmission SPV to Power Grid Corporation of India

REC Power Development and Consultancy has transferred the Bellary–Davanagere ISTS transmission SPV to Power Grid Corporation of India under the TBCB route for strengthening renewable energy integration in Karnataka.

REC Power Development and Consultancy (RECPDCL), a wholly-owned subsidiary of REC, has handed over a project-specific SPV of ISTS Transmission Project under TBCB route, viz., Bellary Davanagere Power Transmission to Power Grid Corporation of India (POWERGRID).
 
The Project SPV was formed to establish ‘Transmission system strengthening for integration of additional RE potential at Davanagere (0.25 GW) and Bellary (2.75 GW)’, on a build, own, operate and transfer (BOOT) basis, POWERGRID stated in a regulatory filing.
 
“BDPTL was acquired for an aggregate value of about INR 13.02 crore, including 50,000 equity shares at par at INR 10 each along with assets and liabilities of BDPTL,” it said.
 
The SPV was handed over by Saurabh Rastogi, CEO, RECPDCL, to Pankaj Pandey, Executive Director, Power Grid Corporation of India, in the presence of Arup Samanta, GM & CS, Ashwini Kumar Das, GM, PGCIL and other senior officials of RECPDCL, PGCIL and CTUIL. The implementation period of the project is 24 months.
 
The project comprises 400 kV D/c Transmission Line traversing in the state of Karnataka, along with associated line bays works at both ends and augmentation works (ICTs and Line Bays) at both Davangere and Bellary Pooling Stations, it said.
