REC undertakes CSR projects worth Rs 1.64 Cr in Koilwar in Bihar

In a series of investments announced under Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives in Arrah and Barhara, Navratna NBFC REC Ltd has now announced investments worth Rs 1.64 crore in Koilwar block under Arrah sub-division in Bhojpur district in Bihar.

In a series of investments announced under Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives in Arrah and Barhara, Navratna NBFC REC Ltd has now announced investments worth Rs 1.64 crore in Koilwar block under Arrah sub-division in Bhojpur district in Bihar.

Under this CSR initiative, there were an aggregate of 14 schemes, which included 8 schemes for construction of P.C.C. roads, 3 schemes for installation of LED/ Solar and high mast lights, Construction of 3 community halls.

According to REC, the main objective of the project is to improve and provide basic infrastructure & developmental facilities in the villages of Koilwar block.

Further, these CSR projects of REC Ltd, formerly Rural Electrification Corporation, were inaugurated by the Power & New and Renewable Energy Minister RK Singh through video conferencing.

During the occasion, SK Gupta, CMD, Ajoy Choudhury, Director (Finance), R. Lakshmanan, IAS, ED from REC Ltd were present along with other district officials and general public from Koilwar.

Recently, the power sector major lender has also unveiled its plans for investment of Rs 2.34 crore in Arrah and Rs 6.99 crore in Barhara under various projects including solar and high mast lights in Bihar.
