REC Q1 FY27 Net Profit Rises 23 Percent to INR 4,149 Crore, NII at INR 5,212 Crore

REC Ltd. reported a 23 percent QoQ rise in standalone net profit to INR 4,149 crore and a 5 percent increase in net interest income to INR 5,212 crore in Q1 FY27. The renewable energy portfolio expanded to INR 78,596 crore, accounting for 13.32 percent of the overall loan book.

REC Ltd. has reported a 23 percent quarter-on-quarter (QoQ) increase in its standalone net profit to INR 4,149 crore in Q1 FY27, compared to INR 3,362 crore in the preceding quarter. The company's net interest income (NII) also rose by 5 percent to INR 5,212 crore from INR 4,961 crore.
 
The company maintained a net interest margin (NIM) of 3.34 percent during the quarter and reported an annualised earnings per share (EPS) of INR 63.04.
 
REC's standalone loan book reached INR 5.90 lakh crore as of June 30, 2026, making it the largest among Central Public Sector Undertaking (CPSU) non-banking financial companies (NBFCs) in India. The company's net worth increased 15 percent year-on-year to INR 91,836 crore.
 
The renewable energy portfolio expanded to INR 78,596 crore, accounting for 13.32 percent of the overall loan book. Meanwhile, the infrastructure and logistics portfolio grew to INR 59,289 crore, representing more than 10 percent of total loan assets.
 
REC further strengthened its asset quality, reducing its Stage-3 loan asset ratio to 0.11 percent of the total loan portfolio. The company also maintained a Capital Adequacy Ratio (CRAR) of 23.06 percent, well above the Reserve Bank of India's regulatory minimum requirement of 15 percent.
 
The Board of Directors declared a first interim dividend of INR 4.25 per equity share (face value INR 10 each) for FY27.
 
According to the company, improving the financial health of power utilities has enhanced borrower credit profiles, enabling lower provisioning requirements. REC also rationalised its lending rates during the quarter, resulting in a lending yield of 9.55 percent.
