Rayzon Solar Signs 5 GW Deal with Caelux to Manufacture Perovskite-Silicon Solar Modules in India
The agreement covers 5 GW of manufacturing capacity and will combine Caelux's energy-producing solar glass with Rayzon Solar's TOPCon solar modules, enabling the production of hybrid perovskite-silicon modules with efficiencies of up to 28 percent.

Indian solar manufacturer Rayzon Solar has entered into a five-year partnership with US-based perovskite technology company Caelux Corporation to produce next-generation solar modules in India, the companies said.
The agreement covers 5 GW of manufacturing capacity and will combine Caelux's energy-producing solar glass with Rayzon Solar's TOPCon solar modules, enabling the production of hybrid perovskite-silicon modules with efficiencies of up to 28 percent.
The partnership aligns with India's ‘Make in India’ initiative and aims to strengthen domestic solar manufacturing capabilities as the country expands renewable energy deployment and local production.
Caelux's technology replaces conventional module top glass with a power-generating perovskite layer, creating what is known as a hybrid tandem module. The approach increases power density compared with conventional silicon-only modules, allowing more electricity generation from the same surface area.
Rayzon Solar plans to integrate the technology into its 11.3 GW bifacial solar module manufacturing platform. The company operates ALMM-listed manufacturing facilities in Kim and Kosamba in Gujarat's Surat district.
"We are dedicated to fulfilling India's vision of establishing world-class, high-quality solar manufacturing at scale. The companies said they are currently working on early deployments, with commercial-scale volumes expected to be available by 2028. The products are expected to be eligible for India's government-tendered utility-scale solar market.
Caelux CEO Scott Graybeal said India was a strategic market for the company as it seeks to expand its technology globally.
"As India is one of the top solar manufacturing countries in the world, it is a strategic destination for us. This partnership is a critical step in Caelux's growth trajectory as we look to scale our technology globally," Graybeal said.
The announcement comes as India's solar manufacturing sector expands rapidly, supported by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy's Production Linked Incentive (PLI) programme and the Approved List of Models and Manufacturers (ALMM) framework.
"This partnership accelerates our capability to domestically manufacture at the efficiency frontier and at the scale India needs to meet its ambitious clean energy goals of 500 GW by 2030," said Amit Barve, CEO of Rayzon Solar.
