Rays Power Infra Secures 200 MW RTC RE Project from Indian Railways

Rays Power Infra has secured a 200 MW round-the-clock renewable energy project from Railways Energy Management Corporation, integrating over 700 MW of solar and wind capacity with 1,000 MWh of battery storage and adding around INR 5,000 crore to its order book.

Rays Power Infra has announced that the company, via its subsidiary Bhalki Solar Power, has secured a mandate to develop and construct a 200 MW Round-the-Clock (RTC) renewable energy project to supply round-the-clock green power to Railways Energy Management Corporation (REMCL).

The project will integrate more than 700 MW of solar and wind capacity, supported by over 1,000 MWh of battery energy storage system (BESS), ensuring uninterrupted RTC power delivery. The Project will add about INR 5,000 crores in its orderbook, to be commissioned by June 2028, the company stated.

It further added that the project will use modules manufactured using solar cells sourced from Rays Power’s upcoming cell manufacturing facility under its subsidiary, Rays Green Energy, which is currently under construction in Madhya Pradesh.

Rays Power will deploy its own solar and wind parks for developing this project. The RTC framework and design will open new opportunities for future green power applications, including green hydrogen, green ammonia, AI data centres, and other high-energy-intensive sectors, the company said.

Ketan Mehta, Managing Director, Rays Power Infra, remarked, “This win represents the culmination of a development journey we began two years ago, when we undertook development of solar–wind co-located hybrid sites across multiple locations. These efforts have delivered significant cost competitiveness and maximised utilisation of evacuation infrastructure, enabling us to achieve one of the lowest LCOEs in the industry.”

He further added, “We will be leveraging this strategic advantage across several projects, and you will see many more such developments and wins in our portfolio over the coming years. This approach positions us to win projects more confidently – without compromising profitability – while continuing to create superior value for our customers.”

Vaibhav Roongta, Chief Business Officer, Rays Power Infra, said, “The RTC renewable energy model aligns strongly with India’s national objective of building 24x7 green power ecosystems. With this win, Rays Power Infra is set to contribute significantly to enhancing grid stability, reducing dependence on conventional energy sources, and supporting the country’s decarbonisation goals. The project will integrate diverse renewable assets and advanced storage systems, ensuring firm power supply during non-solar hours while maintaining cost efficiency.”

Rays Power Infra currently has a diversified renewable energy portfolio of approximately 11,665 MWp, comprising solar, wind, and hybrid projects. As of January 31, 2026, the company has commissioned capacity of about 2,247.30 MWp. Additionally, it also has a contracted capacity of 4,029.43 MWp, an under-development capacity of 3,889 MWp, and 2,300 MWp of capacity at advanced stages across 13 States and one Union Territory in India.
