Ravindra Kumar Tyagi Assumes Leadership as CMD of POWERGRID

This transition follows his previous position as the Director (Operations) within the organization.

Ravindra Kumar Tyagi has taken on the role of Chairman and Managing Director at the Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (POWERGRID).

This transition follows his previous position as the Director (Operations) within the organization. Boasting over 33 years of extensive experience in the power sector, Tyagi has held pivotal roles in leading Central Public Sector Undertakings (CPSUs).

During his tenure at POWERGRID, Tyagi has successfully navigated diverse responsibilities across key business areas, including Asset Management, Engineering, Business Development (both domestic and overseas), Telecom, Load Despatch and Communication, NTAMC, DMS, and notably, as the Head of POWERGRID's North Eastern Region.

Tyagi's academic background includes an Electrical Engineering degree from Punjab Engineering College (PEC), Chandigarh, and an M. Tech. in Energy Studies from IIT Delhi. His scholarly pursuits extend further as a "Fulbright Scholar" from Carnegie Mellon University, USA.

Beyond his academic and professional accomplishments, Tyagi has represented India in numerous International technical committees, contributing to the formulation of various Technical Standards. His dedication and expertise in the field have earned him recognition on both national and international levels.
