Rajendra Prasad Goyal Takes Additional Charge as CMD of NHPC

Rajendra Prasad Goyal, Director (Finance) at NHPC Ltd., has once again been given the additional charge of Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of the company, effective July 1, 2025.

NHPC, in a statement, confirmed that Goyal's appointment comes as per the directions of the Ministry of Power. This marks his second stint as CMD, having previously held the post from March 1 to August 7, 2024.

A seasoned professional, Goyal is a member of the Institute of Cost Accountants of India and holds a Master's degree in Commerce from the University of Rajasthan, Jaipur. He brings with him over 36 years of extensive experience at NHPC, particularly in finance. His expertise spans financial planning, regulatory affairs, and contract management related to the development and operation of hydropower projects.

With the hydropower sector playing a pivotal role in India’s clean energy ambitions, Goyal’s reappointment is expected to ensure continuity and stability in NHPC’s leadership as the company pursues key strategic projects.
