The Energy Department, Government of Rajasthan, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Ashoka Centre for a People-Centric Energy Transition (ACPET), through the International Foundation for Research and Education (IFRE), to advance research-driven and people-focused clean energy initiatives in the state.
The collaboration aims to advance research, policy support, and capacity-building initiatives focused on enabling a people-centric and sustainable energy transition in the state.
The MoU ceremony and deliberations were held under the chairmanship of Ajitabh Sharma, Additional Chief Secretary (Energy), in the presence of Rohit Gupta, CMD, Rajasthan Renewable Energy Corporation (RRECL), and other senior officials.
The MoU was signed on behalf of the state government by Sourabh Swami, Joint Secretary, Energy Department, while ACPET was represented by Vaibhav Chowdhary, Director, ACPET, and Gaurav Bhatiani, Professor, ACPET.
Under the partnership, both institutions will work jointly on key focus areas including supporting the design, awareness, and implementation of Time-of-Day (ToD) tariff mechanisms to encourage efficient energy consumption patterns, promoting strategies and pilot initiatives to strengthen demand-side management and improve system efficiency and reliability, and collaborating on Energy-SIP and storage-related initiatives through capacity-building, research, and outreach activities to accelerate clean energy adoption.
