The European Technology and Innovation Platform for Photovoltaics (ETIP PV) announced today the debut of the PV Manufacturing Europe Conference covering the complete value chain and takes place on 18 & 19 May, 2017, at the BIP House in Brussels.

The European Technology and Innovation Platform for Photovoltaics (ETIP PV) announced today the debut of the PV Manufacturing Europe Conference covering the complete value chain and takes place on 18 & 19 May, 2017, at the BIP House in Brussels.

The ETIP PV Conference 2017 will be the right place to confront different visions for the future of PV manufacturing in Europe. With a global PV market that grew tremendously in the past years and reached about 75 GW in 2016, the place of Europe must be strengthened and redeveloped. This event will allow identifying the technological opportunities and the European opportunities for local and global manufacturing.

The conference will offer the opportunity to join the industry leaders as well as top-ranking scientists, engineers and policy makers to discuss the status and future of “PV Manufacturing in Europe”.

ETIP PV Steering Committee Meeting and Policy Debate (by invitation only)

19 May 2017: 
Estimated time: 9:00 am to 17:00 pm. 

•    Session 1. Market & Industry Status in Europe and Globally
This session will present the status of PV markets, PV industry, technology and competitiveness. The role of PV in the energy transformation in Europe will be highlighted.

•    Session 2: PV R&D and Technology Status
The quest to competitiveness will pass through technology improvements and innovations. This session will browse some of the most promising cost-killing technologies and their practicability.

•    Session 3: Technology Game Changers for Manufacturing in Europe?
This session will discuss the potential for manufacturing in Europe with European actors at different levels of the value chain.

•    Session 4: Panel Discussion – Global Actors with European Know-how: What Makes Europe Attractive for Global Companies?
This session will discuss the future of the PV R&D and industry in Europe with global actors with European ties.
