President Droupadi Murmu to Grace National Energy Conservation Day 2023

Union Minister for Power and New & Renewable Energy, R.K. Singh, will also address the gathering, highlighting the government's commitment to promoting energy efficiency.

The National Energy Conservation Day, an annual celebration to underscore the importance of energy conservation, is set to take place on December 14. The event will be graced by the President of India, Droupadi Murmu, at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi.

In a grand ceremony organized by the Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE), under the Ministry of Power, President Murmu will address the audience and recognize outstanding contributions to energy conservation. 

The event will witness the felicitation of winners of the National Energy Conservation Awards 2023, the National Energy Efficiency Innovation Awards 2023, and the National Painting Competition on Energy Conservation 2023.

Union Minister for Power and New & Renewable Energy, R.K. Singh, will also address the gathering, highlighting the government's commitment to promoting energy efficiency. Joining him will be Union Minister of State for Power and Heavy Industries, Krishan Pal, and Secretary, Ministry of Power, Pankaj Agarwal.

The National Energy Conservation Awards 2023, organized to commend efforts in reducing energy consumption, received a significant response with 516 applications. A total of 63 prizes, including 20 first prizes, 16 second prizes, and 27 Certificates of Merit, will be awarded to deserving entities.

The National Energy Efficiency Innovation Awards (NEEIA) 2023, recognizing outstanding work in energy efficiency, attracted 187 applications. The evaluation criteria focused on replicability, affordability, reliability, impact on energy savings, and environmental sustainability. 

Furthermore, the Ministry of Power continues its tradition of fostering awareness among students through the National Painting Competition on Energy Conservation. 

As the nation gears up to celebrate National Energy Conservation Day, these initiatives underscore the collective effort towards a more energy-efficient and sustainable future.
