Premier Energies, Nuevosol Energy Partner to Manufacture Aluminium Frames for Solar Modules

Premier Energies and Nuevosol Energy have signed a joint venture agreement to manufacture aluminium frames for solar modules, aiming to boost domestic production with a 36,000 MTPA facility in Telangana.

Premier Energies and Nuevosol Energy have signed a joint venture agreement to manufacture aluminium frames for solar modules.

“As part of growth strategy of Premier Energies Ltd. (PEL) and in order to expand its business, the company has approved and entered into a Joint Venture Agreement with Nuevosol Energy Pvt. Ltd. for investing in Premier-Green Aluminium Pvt. Ltd. for the purpose of business of foundry, extrusion, of aluminium frames for solar photovoltaic modules,” shared the company in a regulatory filing.

It further added that as per the JV agreement, Premier Energies will hold 80 percent of equity in the proposed JV company and the balance 20 percent will be held by Nuevosol.

The proposed JV company will set up a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility to produce high quality aluminium frames for solar photovoltaic modules to meet the domestic and captive requirements. The project will have a production capacity of 36,000 MTPA in Telangana.

The strategic partnership will enable Premier Energies to establish control over module component quality, ensures supply chain reliability, and support the broader ‘Make-in-India’ initiative.

Premier Energies has also entered a joint venture with Taiwan-based Sino-American Silicon Products Inc. (SAS), a renowned company in silicon wafer technology, to set up a 2 GW per annum state-of-the-art silicon wafer manufacturing plant in India.

Additionally, the company’s approved the setup of an 800 MW TOPCon cell facility in Andhra Pradesh and a 1.6 GW TOPCon module facility in Telangana, with a combined investment of about INR 474.75 crore.
