Premier Energies Incorporates New Subsidiary for Silicon Ingot and Wafer Manufacturing

The Certificate of Incorporation for the new entity was issued by the Ministry of Corporate Affairs on April 20, 2025. The subsidiary has been established with an authorised share capital of INR 10 lakh, and Premier Energies will hold 100 percent of its equity, making it a related party under SEBI regulations.

According to Ravella Sreenivasa Rao, Company Secretary and Compliance Officer of Premier Energies, the newly incorporated firm will focus on manufacturing and processing high-quality silicon ingots and wafers using advanced technologies and processes. These ingots and wafers are critical raw materials used in solar cell manufacturing, aligning with Premier Energies' core business in the renewable energy sector.

This strategic incorporation is expected to enhance Premier Energies’ backward integration capabilities, securing its supply chain for critical solar materials and strengthening its position as a vertically integrated solar energy company.

The move is also seen as a response to growing domestic and global demand for solar modules and the Indian government’s push for local manufacturing of solar components under various policy initiatives such as the PLI (Production Linked Incentive) scheme.
