Gujarat-based renewable energy IPP and EPC player Powertrac Group has announced that it has secured a 50 MW distributed renewable energy project from Purshotam Profiles under the Distributed Renewable Energy Bilateral Purchase (DREBP) Scheme with Paschim Gujarat Vij Company (PGVCL).

The project is being executed on a project development basis, showcasing Powertrac Group's end-to-end capabilities in renewable energy infrastructure, stated the company.

The scope of work includes grid connectivity application, approvals and capacity reservation, along with the documentation and execution of the Power Purchase Agreement (PPA). It also includes land identification, procurement, due diligence and overall project development activities. In addition, Powertrac Group will be responsible for the survey, design, right of way (RoW), engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) of the associated transmission line.

The company will also secure statutory approvals and undertake liaisoning with various agencies, including the Chief Electrical Inspector to Government (CEIG), Gujarat Energy Development Agency (GEDA), Gujarat Energy Transmission Corporation (GETCO), State Load Despatch Centre (SLDC), PGVCL, the Public Works Department (PWD), the Forest Department and other government authorities.

The scope further covers testing and commissioning of the solar power plant, complete project management, regulatory compliance and commercial operation of the project.

Powertrac Group has set a target of developing 1,000 MW of operational independent power producer (IPP) projects by 2030.

In February 2026, the company announced an investment of INR 600 crore to set up a 1,000 MWh per annum containerised Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) manufacturing facility in India.
