Renewable Energy IPP and EPC player Powertrac Group has announced an investment of INR 600 crore to set up a 1,000 MWh per annum containerised Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) manufacturing facility in India.
The upcoming facility will focus on LFP-based battery pack assembly, in-house battery management system (BMS) development and integration, modular 1-5 MWh grid-scale containerised BESS solutions, and solar-plus-storage hybrid energy systems.
The company said the investment aligns with its long-term objective of developing 1,000 MW of operational independent power producer (IPP) projects by 2030.
Providing an update on project progress, Divyarajsinh Zala, Managing Director, Powertrac Group, stated that building construction, power infrastructure, and core utilities for the facility have already been completed, paving the way for commissioning of the manufacturing unit.
Once operational, the facility is expected to enhance Powertrac Group’s capabilities in large-scale energy storage manufacturing and support the deployment of grid-scale and hybrid renewable solutions across India, reinforcing its strategic growth roadmap towards 2030.
