POWERGRID Wins Transmission Project to Evacuate 5.5 GW RE Power from Rajasthan

Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. (POWERGRID) has won a bid to evacuate 5.5 GW of renewable energy from Rajasthan's REZ Phase-IV, establishing an inter-state transmission system on a build, own, operate, and transfer (BOOT) basis.

Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. (POWERGRID) has recently announced that it has won a tender to evacuate 5.5 GW of renewable energy from Rajasthan REZ Ph – IV.

“POWERGRID has been declared as the successful bidder under tariff-based competitive bidding to establish Inter-State transmission system for the project namely ‘Transmission system for evacuation of power from Rajasthan REZ Ph -IV (Part-2: 5.5 GW) (Jaisalmer/Barmer Complex): Part F (By clubbing Part F1 & F2)’ on build, own, operate and transfer (BOOT) basis,” informed the company in a regulatory filing.

It further added that the project comprises the establishment of a new 765/400/220kV Barmer-I Pooling substation, 765kV and 400kV D/C Transmission Lines and associated bays extension works at other existing substations in the state of Rajasthan.
