POWERGRID Secures INR 6,000 Crore Loan from SBI
POWERGRID raised INR 6,000 crore loan from SBI and declared INR 4.50 interim dividend for FY26 to strengthen financial position.

Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. (POWERGRID), a Maharatna PSU under the Ministry of Power, has declared a first interim dividend of INR 4.50 per equity share for the financial year 2025–26, representing a 45 percent payout on its paid-up share capital.
In a meeting held recently, the company’s Board of Directors approved plans to raise INR 6,000 crore through a loan facility from the State Bank of India (SBI) to enhance liquidity and strengthen financial flexibility for upcoming projects. The record date for the interim dividend has been set as November 10, 2025, and the dividend will be credited to eligible shareholders on December 1, 2025.
During the first half of FY26, POWERGRID recorded a steady financial performance with a marginal increase in income and profit compared to the previous year. The company’s total income rose to INR 22,605.15 crore, up from INR 22,233.71 crore in the corresponding period of FY25. Profit after tax, including regulatory deferral balances, increased slightly to INR 7,208.03 crore from INR 7,123.31 crore a year earlier. Earnings per share (EPS) stood at INR 7.75, as against INR 7.66 in the same period of the previous fiscal.
For the quarter ended September 30, 2025, POWERGRID reported a profit of INR 3,554.80 crore, lower than INR 3,711.16 crore recorded in the corresponding quarter of the previous year, reflecting a modest decline in quarterly performance while maintaining stable growth for the half-year period.
