POWERGRID Invites Bids for 265 MW/530 MWh BESS Project in Haryana

POWERGRID has floated a tender to set up a 265 MW/530 MWh standalone battery energy storage system in Haryana. Bid submission ends on August 31, 2026.

Power Grid Corporation of India (POWERGRID) has floated a tender for setting up a 265 MW/530 MWh Standalone Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) in Haryana.
 
The scope of work includes design, supply, erection, testing, commissioning and operation and maintenance of the 265 MW/530 MWh BESS.
 
The project must be completed within 14 months. Bidders must provide 12 years of comprehensive operation and maintenance (O&M).
 
Bidders must pay INR 25,000 as a tender document fee.
 
The last date for submission of bids is August 31, 2026, till 11:00 AM. The techno-commercial bids will be opened on the same day at 11:30 AM.
 
The bidders can be technically eligible under two routes.  Under Route-1, the bidder must have, as a prime contractor in India during the last seven years, either supplied, erected, tested and commissioned at least 10 MWh of grid-connected BESS, or solar/wind power projects totalling at least 50 MW, with a minimum of 10 MW for each project. Alternatively, the bidder must have commissioned at least two 33 kV or higher AIS/GIS circuit-breaker bays in a substation or switchyard. The relevant projects must be in satisfactory operation as of August 31, 2026.
 
Under Route-2, the bidder must have manufactured and supplied at least 50 MWh of batteries of the offered technology in the last seven years, with at least 10 MWh in satisfactory operation as of August 31, 2026. Alternatively, the bidder can have a technical collaboration or manufacturing licence agreement with a battery manufacturer meeting these requirements.
 
To be financially eligible, the bidder’s net worth for the last 3 financial years must be positive. Its minimum average annual turnover (MAAT) for the best three years out of the last five financial years must be not less than INR 191.39 crore. The bidders must have liquid assets or availability of credit facilities of not less than INR 91.14 crore.
