Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd.  (POWERGRID) has announced the commissioning of two transmission projects aimed at strengthening India’s renewable energy evacuation infrastructure.

In a regulatory disclosure, the company informed that the' Transmission system for evacuation of power from REZ in Rajasthan (20 GW) under phase-III Part-C1' has been commissioned. The project is part of the plan to evacuate power from a renewable energy zone in Rajasthan.

In a separate filing, POWERGRID said that the 'Transmission Scheme for Solar Energy Zone in Bidar (2500 MW), Karnataka (TBCB)' has been completely commissioned with effect from October 5, 2026.

The Bidar project was entrusted to POWERGRID Bidar Transmission Ltd., then a wholly owned subsidiary of POWERGRID. The subsidiary has been amalgamated with POWERGRID Khavda II-C Transmission Ltd. with effect from March 1, 2026, following an order dated January 27, 2026, from the Ministry of Corporate Affairs.

The commissioning of both projects is expected to support the evacuation of renewable power from Rajasthan and Karnataka and further strengthen the national grid.
