POWERGRID Bhadla Sikar Transmission Ltd., a wholly owned subsidiary of Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. (POWERGRID), has successfully commissioned its inter-state transmission project aimed at strengthening power evacuation from solar energy zones in Rajasthan.

The project titled, 'Transmission system strengthening scheme for evacuation of power from Solar Energy Zones in Rajasthan (8.1 GW) under Phase II – Part E,' has been fully commissioned with effect from January 14, 2026, the company said in a regulatory filing.

The transmission scheme was awarded to POWERGRID Bhadla Sikar Transmission Ltd. through Tariff Based Competitive Bidding (TBCB) and forms a key part of India’s renewable energy infrastructure expansion, supporting large-scale solar capacity integration into the national grid.

The project will play a critical role in enabling reliable evacuation of power from Rajasthan’s high-capacity solar energy zones, which are central to India’s target of scaling up renewable energy generation and strengthening inter-state transmission networks.

POWERGRID, a Maharatna PSU under the Ministry of Power, continues to lead the development of inter-state transmission systems essential for integrating renewable energy across the country.
