POWERGRID Bags ISTS Project to Evacuate 7 GW Renewable Energy from Gujarat
Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. has been declared as the successful bidder under Tariff-based competitive bidding to establish an Inter-State transmission system to evacuate power from a potential renewable energy zone in the Khavda area of Gujarat on a BOOT basis.

POWERGRID has announced that it has emerged as a successful bidder under Tariff-based competitive bidding to establish an Inter-State transmission system to evacuate power from a potential renewable energy zone in the Khavda area of Gujarat under Phase-IV.
“Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. has been declared as the successful bidder under Tariff based competitive bidding to establish Inter-State transmission system for the project namely ‘Transmission System for Evacuation of Power from potential renewable energy zone in Khavda area of Gujarat under Phase-IV (7GW): Part B’ on a build, own, operate and transfer (BOOT) basis,” informed the company in a regulatory filing.
It further mentioned that the project comprises the establishment of a new 765/400/220kV (GIS) sub-station at a suitable location near South of Olpad, 765kV & 400kV D/C Transmission Lines and associated bays extension works at other existing substations in the state of Gujarat.
