POWERGRID Bags ISTS Project in Gujarat
Power Grid Corporation of India has announced that it has been declared a successful bidder for setting up an inter-state transmission system project in Gujarat.

Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. has recently announced that it has emerged as a successful bidder for setting up an inter-state transmission system in Gujarat.
“Power Grid Corporation of India has been declared as the successful bidder under tariff-based competitive bidding to establish inter-state transmission system for augmentation of transformation capacity at Jam Khambhaliya PS (GIS) on a build, own operate and transfer (BOOT) basis,” the company stated in a regulatory filing.
The project comprises augmentation of transformation capacity and associated bays extension works at existing substations in the state of Gujarat.
POWERGRID is a ‘Maharatna’ Central Public Sector Enterprise under the Ministry of Power, Government of India. The company has been established as the central transmission utility of India.
In FY24, POWERGRID, along with its subsidiaries, added infrastructure including 19,720 MVA of transformation capacity, six substations, and 4,036 circuit kilometres of transmission lines.
