POWERGRID Approves Investment of INR 964.44 Crore in 3 Transmission Projects

Power Grid Corporation of India (POWERGRID) has approved investments worth INR 964.44 crore for three transmission projects, including system strengthening for Bhadla/Bikaner and two Eastern Region Expansion Schemes (ERES-43 and ERES-44).

Power Grid Corporation of India has announced that its ‘Committee of Directors on Investment on Projects' has approved investments of INR 964.44 crore in three transmission projects.

The first project involves transmission system strengthening to facilitate evacuation of power from Bhadla/Bikaner complex at an estimated cost of INR 212.81 crore. The project is scheduled to be commissioned within 18 months from the date of allocation of project i.e. by June 9, 2026.

The second project ‘Eastern Region Expansion Scheme-43 (ERES-43)’ will be developed at an estimated cost of INR 342.69 crore. The project is scheduled to be commissioned by March 1, 2026.

The third project ‘Eastern Region Expansion Scheme-44 (ERES-44)’ will be developed at an estimated cost of INR 408.94 crore. The project is scheduled to be commissioned within 18 months (15 months on best effort basis) from the date of allocation of project i.e. by May 24, 2026.
