The Powercon Group, a renewable energy asset creation and management company, has released its latest ESG and Sustainability Performance Report, outlining progress in its journey towards Net Zero and responsible business growth.

During the reporting period, the company advanced its decarbonisation strategy across both its operations and extended value chain. The company supported an overall reduction of approximately 5.6 lakh tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions, driven by enhanced energy efficiency initiatives, the deployment of digital Operations and Maintenance (O&M) technologies, and improved operational practices across renewable energy sites.

Commenting on the report, Praveen Kakulte, CEO and Founder of Powercon Group, said that the company’s Net Zero journey goes beyond emissions offsetting. He emphasised that sustainability is now embedded across the organisation, spanning energy efficiency, circularity, ethical supply chains and workforce development.

The Group also recorded strong Year-on-Year (YoY) growth in energy generation, reflecting improved asset reliability and optimised field performance. As part of its environmental priorities, it focused on waste minimisation, resource optimisation and responsible material management. These efforts resulted in a 60 percent reduction in plastic usage and the reinforcement of a near-100 percent ban on single-use plastic across offices, warehouses and O and M locations.

Environmental protection initiatives further improved, with 85 percent of total waste diverted from landfills and 55 percent of components refurbished rather than replaced, supporting circular economy principles. Additionally, renewable energy accounted for 70 percent of energy consumption across the company’s offices and operations.

Sustainability performance across the value chain also strengthened during the year. Powercon onboarded more than 40 percent of value-chain partners for critical components, while 65 percent of suppliers now operate under circularity compliance. The company also achieved 100 percent adherence to its Supplier Code of Conduct, supported by regular assessments and supplier capability-building programmes.

On the social front, the company’s core academy trained more than 6,000 renewable energy professionals, contributing to the development of local green skills and supporting India’s broader clean energy transition.

From a governance perspective, the Group reported zero non-compliances, zero data breaches and zero human rights violations, underscoring its focus on strong internal controls, transparency and ethical business practices.
