Power Minister Launches 4E Wave: A Student-Led Movement for Energy Conservation

Union Minister for Power and New and Renewable Energy, R.K. Singh, inaugurated the 4E Wave, a student-led National Movement for Energy Conservation. The launch event took place in the presence of the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Manoj Sinha, in Delhi.

The 4E Wave movement, initiated by students from the Government College of Engineering and Technology (GCET), Jammu, aims to foster sustainable practices and instill a sense of responsibility in individuals and communities to conserve energy. 

The movement is supported by the J&K Power Development Department, Government of J&K, and the Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE), Ministry of Power, Government of India. The four key elements encapsulated by 4E Wave are eco-friendliness, economy, education, and empowerment. 

During the launch, the Minister unveiled the movement's web portal offering an interactive platform for citizens nationwide to access information and share resources related to energy conservation. The portal facilitates a straightforward registration process, providing participants with certificates of acknowledgment. 

Any Indian citizen can join the campaign and receive personalized energy-saving tips, updates on the latest developments in energy conservation, and an opportunity to contribute articles to the quarterly e-magazine named ‘e-kshitij.’ The platform will also host contests focusing on energy conservation.

Expressing appreciation for the active participation of J&K youth, the Lieutenant Governor highlighted the initiative's significant contribution to promoting the National Cause of Energy Conservation and its role in safeguarding the planet.

Minister Singh emphasized that the 4E Wave movement represents a resolute commitment to mitigate the impact of harmful carbon emissions, paving the way for a sustainable energy future. 

By participating in the campaign, individuals contribute to reducing carbon footprints and collectively foster a more sustainable and eco-friendly future. He invited all Indian citizens to join this impactful journey toward energy conservation and a sustainable future.
