Power Mech Projects Ltd. has announced securing new orders from Bihar State Power Generation Company Ltd. (BSPGCL) for the development of grid-connected distributed solar power plants across the state.

The projects, aimed at solarising agricultural and mixed feeders under the PM-KUSUM Component C2 scheme (Feeder Level Solarisation), will have a cumulative capacity of 13.66 MW (AC).

The total estimated revenue from these projects, spread over a 25-year power purchase agreement (PPA) period, is approximately INR 159 crore. The projects will be developed under the RESCO model, with power procurement by Bihar DISCOMs, North Bihar Power Distribution Company Ltd. (NBPDCL) and South Bihar Power Distribution Company Ltd. (SBPDCL).

The scope of work includes the design, supply, installation, testing, commissioning, and operation and maintenance of the solar power plants, along with the necessary transmission infrastructure.

The orders cover three locations in Bihar. The Rajoun plant will have a capacity of 4.221 MW, Sakahara will host a 4.285 MW plant, and Sambhuganj will see the development of a 5.155 MW facility. Each project benefits from central government subsidies of INR 1.05 crore per MW and state subsidies of INR 0.45 crore per MW.

The contracts are domestic in nature, with a targeted completion timeline of 12 months. Power Mech confirmed that there is no promoter or related party interest in the awarding entity.

This development marks another step in Power Mech’s growing renewable energy portfolio and supports the state’s efforts toward cleaner energy and sustainable agricultural power solutions.
